Summary[]

At the Souai-en juvenile care facility, Ayano, Ayaka, and a caretaker, who used to go with Ayaka to college, walk down the hallway. The caretaker contacted Ayaka because three odd children, Kido, Seto, and Kano, might be related to the medusa research that Ayaka has been working on. They briefly discuss her research, how it focused on the red-eyed medusa legends in Japan, and how it isn't accepted by the academia due to it being obscure. Ayano asks her mother what a medusa is, so Ayaka explains that it is her topic of research, as well as a person she would like to meet. The young girl asks if they are scary, and while some people think that medusas are scary, Ayaka believes that, in reality, they are really nice.
After they arrive in front of room 107, the caretaker knocks on the door, but no one replies. She opens the door, and the room appears to be empty. That confuses her, as they would have seen the three children along the way if they had gone out of their room. While they look around the room, it is revealed that Kido, Seto, and Kano are actually sitting in a corner and shaking out of fear while Kido uses her eye ability to hide them. They are afraid that Ayaka will put them in a laboratory and experiment on them. As she remembers an alien autopsy that she has seen on TV, Kido begins to disappear even more, and Seto starts to cry. Ayano senses something weird from the corner of the room where the three kids are, so she points it out to her mother. Ayaka laughs it off and tells her daughter not to be silly, but as she lowers her hand, she accidentally rests it on Kido's head, which interrupts her Eye Ability. Kido awkwardly greets Ayaka while the caretaker faints from the shock of suddenly seeing the children appear.
Back at the Tateyama household in the children's new room, Ayaka warmly welcomes the three kids and tells them to relax and feel free to use whatever they want. She then leaves to make dinner, and the children discuss their new home. While Seto is glad that they aren't in a laboratory, Kano wonders why Ayaka would even want to adopt them. Kido and Seto point out that she didn't appear shocked when they appeared out of nowhere, but Kido brings up the topic of Ayaka experimenting on them again, which causes Seto to tear up.
Before they can continue talking, the door opens up, and Ayano peers into the room. Kano awkwardly asks her if they can help her with something, but Ayano innocently asks if the three of them are medusas. Kano is confused by this, but Seto explains that medusas are monsters that turn people into stone by making eye contact. Ayano continues to explain that her mother wants to meet a red-eyed medusa, so she assumed that they might be ones. That infuriates Kido since she thinks that Ayano is implying that they are monsters. Seto attempts to calm her down, but the girl tearfully shouts that Ayaka only took them in as some joke and that everyone only treats them as monsters. The distress causes Kido's eye ability to activate, and her left hand begins to disappear. Ayano is surprised by this, so she reaches out toward her, but Kido instinctively slaps the girl away. The force of the slap causes Ayano to hit the wall behind her, and she slumps down to the floor. As blood begins to drip from her nose, Kano scolds Kido for hitting her, but she says that she didn't mean to do that. She then crouches down and apologizes to Ayano. To Kido's surprise, Ayano replies that that is really nice of her, and she then explains that, while she doesn't know if they are monsters or not, she isn't afraid of them and that the reason her mother brought them to their home is that she wants to cure them. Kido apologizes to her again, but Ayano cheerfully hops to her feet and says that she is fine since she has been working out. She reaches out her hand towards Kido and, with a smile, asks them all to be a family. Kido tears up and agrees to that.
Meanwhile, in Ayaka's office, Ayaka is looking over old books that show illustrations of Azami. She thinks that there is a possibility that the children she adopted may have a connection to the medusa.
