Also on the Tateyamas:
Considering this, it would be dishonest to keep mentioning them as "adopted" rather than "fostered". This has been a source of confusion for the fandom for a long time now.
(The fact Ayaka considered adopting them can still be mentioned as that is true. But because of Ayaka's death in the landslide, the adoption also wouldn't have been finalized in time due to this.)
The scan itself comes from "The Deceiving" so I think it can be considered "official enough".
(I can cross-check the Japanese if you need me to, but I don't know how to add citation links yet, sorry about that... I thought mentioning the official articles and books these things came from would be enough if someone else could edit them in.)
It should also be noted that "Children Record booklet" is long since outdated. It was the very first official source of info for the series issued around 2011. While other facts in it were stated through translation (such as the quotes, etc.) the ages were not. It should not be used as a direct reference for the ages.
As for Sidu's art collections book, while I could buy one on my own to confirm, it'd be nice if those scans could be accepted instead, as the book is very expensive ($40-70+). I'd be spending my own money to buy that book. While I plan to later, I'd rather wait for a while (after holiday time)... I hope these references are understandable. If I obtain the book later on or find more scans, I'll provide further scans for your reference, if that helps.
We appreciate the info and will try to update information, though be aware that traffic on the wiki is slow and we nowadays rely more on edits of volunteers rather than us mods, so adding the sources may take a little. I'm not sure where the false info of the children record booklets stating ages came from, since I don't remember it being added (and you gotta think that some of the edits were literally made at the time years ago and not actively updated, since we no longer keep up with the fandom 24/7 and haven't in at least two years, adult life hitting and all), so unless volunteers update we work with what we got. That's a common thing on wikis, since they are not an official source after all, but a hobby by fans. A lot of info is outdated I'm sure. It's not really "dishonest", cause dishonest would mean we are selling lies, when all info was canon at some point. So yeah, thank you for linking the sources and I will try to fix outdated info where I can, but please bear with us if not all is updated immediately.
Thanks for letting me know and I understand!
(I can re-edit the trivia if needed and make other small corrections but my edits were reverted despite indicating sources, which is why I posted here.)
"I'm not sure where the false info of the children record booklets stating ages came from" - to be honest I think most of the remaining fandom didn't know where these came from - even the translator was surprised since those ages were never stated in that booklet, and the scans prove it. I do believe Shintaro's was or might have been, but that was also known through song lyrics and the like? It appeared the fandom since assigned ages in an incorrect fashion and that's stuck with the fandom ever since.
(or at least they didn't note the conflicting ages along with that and "official" conflicting ones, like Momo's)
While the ages seemed to be contradicting, the translator is Japanese and one of the few translators the fandom seems to have left, so I think they are trustworthy when it comes to knowing the school system.
I've got hold of the asstest of some of the music videos (Sidu's), I'd like to add them to the songs' pages but idk how to make an image board thing or if I even can. Could you tell me how to do so? idm sharing a drive folder of them with you if it'll be easier for you
I recently made pretty heavy edits, which involved changing and adding summaries, to Kagerou Daze -in a daze- and Kagerou Daze II -a headphone actor-. I plan to do this for the light novel volumes 3-7, because these pages haven't seen major edits in a long time. As I want to finish these summaries as soon as possible, I will likely be changing and adding to these pages even without a reply. I was just sending this message to alert an admin to these changes. If, for some reason, you don't want these changes, please tell me.
This is probably long forgotten about, but there was a trilogy of novels written about the Mekakushi Dan finding a girl named Sasha (サーシャ) back in a campaign called Mekakushi Dan: Watchers from Summer 2014 to early 2015, and I was wondering if she should be added to the wiki. Unfortunately, not a lot of information is available about her, but she is nonethless a character in the franchise, albeit in a spin-off. She has a character design done my Sidu as well.
I wanted to start an event on the wiki so I made a blog post for it but if you don't want me to create events, That's fine. You can even take it down if you want. I just thought it would be a fun event to do. ^^
Retrospect does seem really odd to me. I have no idea why they would use this translation (meaning it makes sense in a literal sense, but I was assuming they'd keep the fan base a bit in mind when translating). I think the other chapters are fine with their official translation, but on that one it might be best if we use "Reminiscence Forest" as usual, since that is what the name is widely known for, and redirect "Retrospect Forest" to the page, as well as writing somewhere why the official name wasn't used for the article.
